Tuition
All tuition is private, on a one to one basis. There are normally two one hour lessons each day taken with each of the two tutors - Julia Cload and Michael Stembridge-Montavont.
Concert
There is a public concert given by the students on the Wednesday evening given by the students, and although participation is not compulsory, students at all levels usually take part. (See 2007 Concert details).
Julia principally teaches musicianship and interpretation, and is universally respected and loved by all her pupils, who thrive on her sympathetic and kind approach to developing the best that is within them. She studied at the Royal College of Music and at the Liszt Academy, Budapest. Private studies with Hans Keller and Maria Curcio. She has made several recordings on CD, which are available through Meridian Records
She has recently received much critical acclaim for her recording
of the Bach 48 Preludes and Fugues. ‘Confirms her standing as a Bach player
of the first rank’ ‘I know of no more richly
satisfying Bach playing by anyone, past or present, recorded or otherwise’.
